An Alva yacht is a “solar-electric-serial-hybrid” vessel which is constructed to provide the necessary energy for hotel loads and short pure-electric trips.
The entire vessel is made of lightweight sandwich composite with carbon reinforcement.
Alva Yachts are not built to cruise at high speeds and longer trips on batteries only.
In this case the generator sets are needed to support the propulsion energy requirements.
You will be able to cruise with a comfortable 7-9 knots and both generators running without depleting the batteries. If you need higher speeds the batteries will start to drain energy to the motors.

On the Ocean Eco 60, cruising speed is 7.5 knots, with a range of up to 75.
On the Ocean Eco 78 and Ocean Eco 90, cruising speed is 9 knots, with a range of up to 80.

Shore amp line: There are units with a charging capacity of up to 32 kW, which allows the batteries to be charged in 7-8 hours. Usually there’s 32 Amp chargers in Marinas, with this it takes about 20h for the batteries to fully recharge.
